Living room with new hardwood floors after a whole-home remodel

Graham is just up the road from our Eatonville home base. There are newer homes in the subdivisions and older farmhouses on acreage, and families who want floors that look great and can handle real life. Hardwood does both, as long as it’s chosen well and installed right.

Choosing the right hardwood for a Graham home

From the moment you call, Kellie’s helps you pick the right species, color, finish and plank width for your space. We supply hardwood from top manufacturers, both solid and engineered, and our supplier relationships mean we can source almost any look you’re after.

  • Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished many times, so it can last as long as the house.
  • Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer over a stable core. It moves less as the seasons change, which is a real plus in homes that go from damp fall weather to dry, woodstove-heated winters. It can usually be refinished once or twice.

Want hardwood in the living room and something tougher in the mudroom? Plenty of customers mix hardwood with luxury vinyl or carpet, and we install all of it.

A near-flawless install protects the floor

A great floor can be ruined by a sloppy installation. Our installers are skilled and experienced, and they follow the manufacturer’s specifications on every job. It starts with a flat, solid base. We check the subfloor and level or repair it where needed before a single board goes down.

Affordable, efficient, and close by

Graham customers come to Kellie’s for fair pricing and a job that gets done without dragging on. Since we’re based in Eatonville, getting out to you is easy. Already have hardwood that’s looking worn? We do hardwood refinishing in Graham too.

Did you know?

Most "bad floor" calls aren't the floor. If a room feels bouncy or the planks keep separating, the subfloor underneath is usually the problem, and covering it up with new flooring just buys you a year. Kellie's levels and repairs the subfloor first, which is why the floors stay flat.

FAQ

Hardwood floors questions, answered for Graham

Why do hardwood floors get gaps in the winter?

Wood shrinks a little when the air is dry, like when the heat or a woodstove is running, and swells back in the damp months. Small seasonal gaps are normal. Letting the wood acclimate before install, and choosing engineered hardwood in some homes, keeps that movement to a minimum.

Can you install hardwood in a manufactured or older rural home?

Often, yes, but the subfloor has to be up to it. We'll check what's under your current floor and tell you what it needs before we recommend a product.

Can I see samples before I decide?

Absolutely. We'll bring samples out so you can see them in your own light, next to your cabinets and walls.
