Living room with new hardwood floors after a whole-home remodel

Getting hardwood floors in Federal Way should be simple. Kellie’s Remodel & Restoration helps you choose a quality floor from the best-known brands, installs it with top-tier crews, and keeps the price competitive. We’ve been putting in floors for over 30 years, and plenty of our Federal Way customers come back to us for their next project.

New hardwood, installed right

A hardwood floor is a big investment, and a poor installation can spoil it. Our installers follow the manufacturer’s standards from start to finish. That includes the part most people never see: checking the subfloor and leveling or repairing it when needed. Few flooring companies take on subfloor work. We do.

Solid or engineered? Solid hardwood can be refinished many times. Engineered hardwood has a real wood surface over a stable core, so it moves less with humidity, and it can usually be refinished once or twice. We’ll help you figure out which one fits your home.

Already have hardwood? Let’s bring it back

Plenty of older homes have hardwood hiding under old carpet, or floors that are scratched, gray and worn through in the traffic lanes. Refinishing can make them look new for a fraction of the cost of replacing them. We sand down to fresh wood, repair damaged boards, and finish with the stain color and sheen you choose. See more on our hardwood refinishing page.

One company for every floor

Kellie’s installs carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate and tile too, and plenty of customers combine them. It could be hardwood in the living areas and luxury vinyl in the kitchen and baths. We’ll help you plan it all.

The flooring is beautiful, the installation is perfect. I threw some curve balls and Kellie was all over it, every time. FANTASTIC all around!

Did you know?

Most "bad floor" calls aren't the floor. If a room feels bouncy or the planks keep separating, the subfloor underneath is usually the problem, and covering it up with new flooring just buys you a year. Kellie's levels and repairs the subfloor first, which is why the floors stay flat.

FAQ

Hardwood floors questions, answered for Federal Way

Should I refinish or replace my hardwood floors?

If the boards are solid and there's enough wood left to sand, refinishing is usually the better value. If they're badly damaged, cupped from water, or it's engineered flooring that's already been sanded, replacing may make more sense. We'll look and give you an honest answer.

Can you match new hardwood to what I already have?

Often we can get close by matching the species and board width, then sanding and finishing old and new together so they blend. We'll tell you up front how close we expect it to be.

Do you install hardwood on stairs?

Yes. Stair treads and risers take more fitting and finishing, but hardwood stairs are a great upgrade and tie the whole floor together.
