Refinishing is one of the best deals in home improvement. Your hardwood floors are already there, and sanding and refinishing them can make them look close to new for a fraction of the price of new flooring. Kellie’s Remodel & Restoration makes the process as easy, clean and low-impact on your home as it can be.

What makes our refinishing easier to live with

  • Low dust. Our sanding units contain the dust as they work, so it doesn’t end up all over your house.
  • Low odor. We use water-based finishes that are less smelly and less toxic than old-school oil finishes.
  • Respect for your home. Our pros have been doing this for decades, not years. They protect your space and work efficiently so you get your rooms back sooner.

What to expect

  1. Free estimate. We look at the floor, check for damaged boards and talk about color and sheen.
  2. Prep. The room gets cleared and nearby areas are protected.
  3. Sand. We sand past the scratches, stains and worn finish down to fresh wood.
  4. Repair. Damaged boards get replaced, and gaps and small areas get filled.
  5. Stain and finish. You choose the color, or keep it natural, and then we apply durable protective coats.

We’ll give you a realistic schedule up front, including when you can walk on it and when the furniture can go back.

Repairs, patches and new sections

Because Kellie’s is a full remodeling contractor, we’re not limited to sanding. We can repair damaged hardwood, match new boards to existing floors, and add sections where a wall came out or a room is being opened up. If part of your home needs a different floor, like vinyl or laminate in a kitchen, we can handle that too.

The flooring is beautiful, the installation is perfect. I threw some curve balls and Kellie was all over it, every time. FANTASTIC all around!

Did you know?

Most "bad floor" calls aren't the floor. If a room feels bouncy or the planks keep separating, the subfloor underneath is usually the problem, and covering it up with new flooring just buys you a year. Kellie's levels and repairs the subfloor first, which is why the floors stay flat.

FAQ

Hardwood refinishing questions, answered for Kent

How dusty is hardwood refinishing?

Much less than it used to be. Our sanding equipment collects the dust as it goes, so you're not wiping a fine layer of sawdust off everything for weeks afterward.

Why a water-based finish?

Water-based finishes have a much milder smell than traditional oil-based ones and are less toxic to be around. They also dry faster and stay clear instead of yellowing over time.

Can you fix a few bad boards without redoing the whole room?

We can replace damaged boards with matching wood. The repair blends best when the area around it is sanded and refinished together, and we'll talk through the options when we see it.
