Wood-look plank flooring installed through a living room with French doors

Laminate has come a long way. The newest products look a lot like real wood, hold up to heavy foot traffic, and resist scratches and stains better than ever. In many ways they perform a lot like vinyl, and they still cost less than traditional or engineered hardwood. It’s classy enough that plenty of homeowners choose laminate for part of the house even when they have hardwood elsewhere.

Don’t let just anyone “slap it down”

Laminate is only as good as its installation. Cut it wrong or float it over a bumpy subfloor, and you get gaps, peaking at the seams and that hollow, clicky sound. Our installers:

  • Check the subfloor first and level or repair it where needed.
  • Use the right underlayment for your floor and your room.
  • Cut and lay it carefully around doorways, stairs, cabinets and all the quirks of your home.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on every job.

We also take pride in being clean and careful with your home and furnishings while we work.

Great product, fair price

Kellie’s sells laminate from the best brands, and Kellie and her team will show you great-looking options that fit your budget. Where we really come through is the project management: one company handling the product, the prep and the install. And if something isn’t right, we’ll make it right.

Want laminate in the living areas and something else in the bedrooms or bath? We install carpet, luxury vinyl and hardwood too.

The flooring is beautiful, the installation is perfect. I threw some curve balls and Kellie was all over it, every time. FANTASTIC all around!

Did you know?

Most "bad floor" calls aren't the floor. If a room feels bouncy or the planks keep separating, the subfloor underneath is usually the problem, and covering it up with new flooring just buys you a year. Kellie's levels and repairs the subfloor first, which is why the floors stay flat.

FAQ

Laminate questions, answered for Kent

Laminate or luxury vinyl: which should I choose?

Both are great. Laminate often has a more realistic wood look and a harder, more scratch-resistant surface. Luxury vinyl is the better pick for wet areas like bathrooms and laundry rooms. Many homes use both, and we can help you decide room by room.

Is laminate waterproof?

Many newer laminates are water-resistant, and some are rated waterproof for spills. Standing water is still hard on most laminate, so for full bathrooms we usually suggest luxury vinyl or tile. We'll go over the specs of whatever you're considering.

Why does my old laminate feel hollow or separate at the seams?

That usually comes from an uneven subfloor or the wrong underlayment. We check and level the subfloor before installing so the new floor stays tight and sounds solid.
